What Is HAND
HYGIENE ?
Hand Hygiene Is a general term referring to any action of hand
cleansing. When performed correctly, hand hygiene results in
a reduction of microorganisms on hands.
The hands of food service employees can be vectors in the
spread of food borne diseases because of poor personal hygiene
or cross-contamination. Therefore, it becomes important to wash
hands properly.
Only use the hand washing facilities as provided by the FBO
or employer. Sinks which are used to prepare food or wash
dishes, must not be used to wash hands.
Hand washing facilities must have warm
running water, soap and singleuse
paper towels or other effective
means for drying hands.
“Up to 80% of communicable diseases are transferred by touch.”
